Now I'm onto Thing 23 - The conclusion.
I think a lot of the things that I have looked at have been interesting. Most of them can be used with each other. In particular a number of these things can be used as applications on either Facebook or Myspace, which I have made reference to in some of the posts.
In particular Facebook could be used as a way of client feedback by creating a group for a particular library or to become a fan of library.
Most of the applications would be used for research purposes. The only one I would say would have the least research purpose would be msn messenger, skype, bebo etc.
Overall I have enjoyed this and plan to use these skills to help clients in the library and also for personal use as well.

THING 18!
I am just doing Thing 18 - articles about to Read about the Library 2.0 movement and explore new developments in Library related interfaces such as Encore and the new EBSCOhost 2.0 interface.
The articles are quite interesting. I've posted links to the relevant articles:

THING 5
I'm just doing Thing 5 - Flickr. It could maybe be in someways be beneficial to librarys for pictures. But you would have to hope the tags have been saved to the photo. I have saved some photos that are with me with friends. One with my favourite singer and actress. Plus one of my friend who goes to the TV Week Logies Arrivals each year with me as well.
You can also subscribe to the photostreams as well via feed reader.

THING 22
I am now onto Thing 22. I have added the google talk to my iGoogle home page. I am familiar with Facebook chat, as I use it to catchup with a lot of friends, which would be similiar.
I am also familiar with MSN messenger, etc. also.

THING 16!
I am now onto Thing 16 - iGoogle Home Page. I've added the following to the webpage.
- Google Reader.
- Google Map Search gadget.
- Google Book Search gadget.
- Facebook gadget.
- Wikipedia Search gadget
This could have some benefits to libraries for research purposes. But again you could not use this as source alone.
THING 21
I have just subscribed to a podcast on the abc website. This could be in someways beneficial for libraries for research purposes. But you could never use this as your only research tool.

THING 19!
I have just done Thing 19 - put a pet on the wiki. It's quite a learing curve. But it is quite interesting to use. I've posted a link to a photo of a pet of mine.

THING 17!
I am now onto Thing 17 - Delicious. I typed in Welsh Ponies and it brought up a number of different users booksmarks. I have set an account up, which I will explore later.

THING 8
I am now onto Thing 8, which is Library Thing. It's an interesting tool. The link to the Library Thing catalogue is:
http://www.librarything.com/addbooks
http://www.librarything.com/addbooks
THING 7
I am now onto Thing 7 - Funny Image Generator. You can also have this sent to Facebook. But again you would have to be logged in and have an account.
THING 15!
I am now doing Thing 15. I am exploring Google Books. However the book I have been asked to search for 'The Missing Manual' by Sarah Milstein worseluck has limited preview on it.
However there is a link to click on Learn More, as it mention that "This is a preview. The total pages displayed will be limited." I've included a link to the book, which is:
http://books.google.com/books?id=sfW6wrHiDnQC&printsec=frontcover&dq=The+Missing+Manual+by+Sarah+Milstein&ei=LaMsSYveFYK0kAS4xKyvBQ#PPR5,M1
I've also included a link to the link that the Learn More hyperlink leads you to. The link to it is:
http://books.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=91570&hl=en
In someways it's good that users of google books are given notice of limited previews. But I think this good still be useful to libraries definitely.
But I could not find anything about Google Books on either Facebook or Myspace.
Now I am going to explore Google Schoolar. An interesting tool. But can be a pest to use. I searched for this title:
SAP NetWeaver For Dummies and it interesting made reference to Victoria University in one of the search results which I got the following:
http://scholar.google.com.au/scholar?hl=en&lr=&q=SAP+NetWeaver+For+Dummies+&btnG=Search
Also I found this when I used the advanced search:
http://www.staff.vu.edu.au/phoenix/phoenix/sp1.pdf

THING 14!
Just had a go with Google docs. I created file. But I haven't typed much in it. I admit if it came to a crunch I prefer using microsoft office myself.
There is also a google docs application on Facebook. It allows you to manage google docs from Facebook.

THING 13!
I have just played with google maps. It's interesting to use. But it can be a pain at times, as you have to specific about locations and addresses. This is a very handy tool to use on any events that are created on either Facebook or Myspace.
I did a search for an address. I've included the link in this post:
http://maps.google.com.au/?q=Palm%20Springs%20Avenue%20Glenning%20Valley%20New%20South%20Wales&t=h&utm_campaign=en_AU&utm_medium=ha&utm_source=en_AU-ha-apac-au-gns-ssm&utm_term=add

THING 20
I am now doing Youtube. I have used Youtube heaps of times. I find old TV shows to New TV Show.
I have found something about the Hollywood Librarian, which is the World Premiere of the Hollywood Librarian.
http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=wlDy2xibXu0
If you want to add it to Facebook, Myspace or Bebo or even rate the video. You must be logged in or have a Youtube account to do this.

THING 9 & THING 10
I'm just having a go at Thing 9, which is the Feed Reader with google. I have subscribed to these things so far:
I admit it is quite a learning curve to use this. I know that after I have subscribed to each feed that I can click on view my feeds after I have subscribed to each of these. It shows what I have subscribed to.
I think this could be useful to libraries, patrons and anyone in general, as you can then subscribe to various newsfeeds that my relate to something of interest or study.
You can add a star to article. You can add tags. Place you can share articles or share articles with comment. By clicking the tag for example Home And Away, it takes you to articles that I put a star too.
Worseluck you cannot use tags like &, <, >, !, ?, /, ^, ". Which might be restrictive maybe?

A BIT MORE OF THING 12!
I'm also going to use my existing Myspace account. The link to it is:
http://www.myspace.com/charlesgjensen
I use both my Facebook and Myspace accounts. As I find both of them have their strengths and their weaknesses. So I do not really prefer one over the other. I find it handy to have both, as some of my friends prefer Facebook over Myspace, or Myspace over Facebook.
I will be working on a project inrelation to Facebook soon. I shall keep everyone posted.

THING 2!
Hi everyone. It's Charles from Footscray Park Campus Library. I'm now starting my 23 things. It has been a very big learning curve starting the blog. I had some help along the way, which is greatly appreciated.
I'm looking forward to completing more of the tasks for 23 things. I look forward to catching up with everyone.
